Faux wood blinds are a cheaper water resistant alternative to real wood shutters while vinyl shutters provide the clean look of shutters with water resistant capabilities. It is important to note that vinyl shutters offer more longevity and durability which is reflected in their pricing.

Bear in mind though the key differences between composite or solid wood shutters! If correctly painted and sealed, solid wood shutters can hold up to moisture well. Composite shutters on the other hand, made of bound-together wood chips, performs terribly when exposed to moisture.
